The ground was hard.

But I learned to hop

to hope

and with great effort

to hover,

briefly.

Glaze-wonders dazzled.

Generous breezes

hinted,

then moved me;

I could

glide!

But lift equaled

effort-

until it didn't.

Thy sky

thy clouds

they comfort me!

And touching the 

ground,

the Earth,

is no longer

a 'come-down'

but

 benediction

till at last

one day

I float away

beyond the final 

effort.
