"In meteorology, a virga is an observable streak or shaft of precipitation falling from a cloud that evaporates or sublimates before reaching the ground.[1] A shaft of precipitation that does not evaporate before reaching the ground is a precipitation shaft. At high altitudes the precipitation falls mainly as ice crystals before melting and finally evaporating. . ."

WISE!
Such cool shots today. I love the one looking down on the garden.
Great post with interesting weather captures, Cloudia!
What a rainbow!
Love you friends ❤️ and these comments.
Faith in fools? Hm, I got to ponder the one..
That is a very intense virga! Around these parts, they generally evaporate while still way up in the atmosphere. It's a frustrating sight during a hot, dry summer.
amazing what you can think about when you think about shadows!!

Nice quotes
Virga is a meteorologists' buzz word. "Don't worry about that. It's just virga."
Some great shadows in these photos. Thanks!
Great quotes. Love the bright colors people wear. Now I know that streak is called a virga.
Aloha Cloudia, Oh such lovely shadows and wisdom, very upbeat and appreciated!
