The Wise Flip Flop

A L O H A From Honolulu!

When 'I' is replaced with 'we',
even illness becomes wellness.
Malcolm X

 If the universe is
bigger and stranger
 than I can imagine,
it's best to meet it
with an
empty bladder.
       John Scalzi

A Common Mundane Tragedy
A flip-flop woke proud,
Ready to dance
In the beach town crowd
But her strap came askance!

“Oh no!” cried the flip-flop
"This is no fun!"
 I was feeling so Tip-Top
In the warm salty sun!

Yet with surf breezes
A thought came to play:
“Maybe fates sneezes
Shouldn't ruin my day.”

BE the Wise Flip Flop!

sincerely pleased
you are nourished.

Himself had a flip flop (which we call thongs) repaired in India.

We call them slippers in Hawaii, pronounced:
Sleee-pahs

...flip flops always seemed to litter the landscape in Maui.

That last photo with the glass is a real beauty with that light and composition. Well done.

Love the layers of colors in the first sky shot, beautiful.
It will be nice if "we always comes before I"
Have a great day and a happy week ahead.

That cruise ship is sitting on a golden ocean beneath an alien sky!

There should have been a margarita in the glass -- to go with the blown out flip flop!

Flip-flops are called thongs in Australia - which initially causes a bit of confusion to people like me!!

I absolutely adore that first photo and quote. And your Ode to a flip flop was masterful.

That glass sitting on the rocks was stunning. What an amazing composition. Thanks for sharing these photos and quotes, as well as the glass for T this almost Tuesday, dear Cloudia.

It seems to me that we (in the mainland USA) called them thongs for a while, and then switched to calling them flip-flops. As far as I can find out, the rubber version with the v-shape strap was patented in 1957, so they’ve been out for a while. Nice verse.
