Stubborn Delight

 A L O H A  From
H  O  N  O  L  U  L  U
Learning how to be still.
To really be still and
let life happen.
That stillness
becomes radiance.
    Morgan Freeman

Concrete and glass
Fixed design,
But sunlight ever
Has its own in mind.

Shadows dance
With unexpected grace,
Transforming
Moment to Moment
Re-imagining space.

The architects plan
So carefully drawn,
Graffiti-ed anew
With each
Passing dawn.
  Cloudia Charters

Carpobrotus aequilaterus
common names: angled pigface,
Chilean pigface,
 This species is thought to
have originated in
southern Africa
(or possibly South America).
A naturalised weed elsewhere.
From my  N. California files

We must risk delight.
We can do
without pleasure,
but not delight.
Not enjoyment.
We must have the
stubbornness to accept
our gladness in the
ruthless furnace
of the world.
Jack Gilbert

There is more credit and
satisfaction in being a
first-rate truck driver
than a tenth-rate executive.

I'll share the Forbes quote with my cousin Cynthia who's a truck driver! Loved Pixie's yawn, and never heard of a pigface flower!
