I would have to say
it is avoiding worry,

My dear it's only lately
 I've realized that we two
too soon grow old
together
accrue.

Not so much for myself,
I readied that long ago,
and many women must learn
to live with ungovernable
foe.

But you my king,
my weather, my boy
indestructible
for so long;
To witness your ripening
an entirely new hell-
oh that I could buy
another 20 years by some spell
at your zenith
no matter the cost,
or what it meaneth.

So promise me you'll linger
in the days of your demi-god
flower.

Wait for me
together we'll go down
but later,
to that bower.

Not yet.

Not yet.

Please will our afternoon gold
to linger;
It took so long
to find this perfect
place.

Please kind lord
let me linger
to gaze upon this
face.

Grandma's Hands

A   L  O   H   A  !

Grandmas Hands by Bill Withers on Grooveshark

Looking at the keyboard in front of me,
I see my Grandma's
hands

Grandma's mother and father
brought her to America
when she was just a little girl.
They had a small hardware store
where they worked very hard,
just like the people in this picture,
immigrants to America. . .
And so the story goes.

Morning Moon on the Sea

" A dreamer is one
who can only find his way
by moonlight,
and his punishment is
that he sees the dawn
before the rest of the world.  "

Oscar Wilde

" Follow your inner moonlight;
don't hide the madness.  "

Allen Ginsberg

I inherited
my grandma's laugh.

It gives me more pleasure
every day
than any amount
of money.

A very practical  woman,
it is as if I can hear her,
close,
close as the lessons she taught me:

"NO amount?!
How `bout a
MILLION DOLLARS!

Take the money,
Hon."

Good old practical Grandma

Honolulu in the Winter

A  L  O  H  A  !

Song of Old Hawai`i (Instrumental) by Hawaii Calls on Grooveshark

Leeward Oahu Winter Morning Sky
Lots of you have been showing
pictures of winter, beautiful pictures,
and eloquently describing
what winter means to YOU.
Most folks think that we do not enjoy
seasons
here in the Hawaiian Isles
but we do.
For example, we awoke feeling chilly
the other morning. The coldest morning
of the winter led the a.m. news:

This isn't a joke. I'm not
teasing you.
Sixty F
with dry air, feels "warm"
when you step off the plane
from cooler climes.
But we are used to
moister, more, gentle temps.
So it feels to us
like winter!
We wear our
jackets.

Weather-Guy Paul
is showing us to wear
long sleeves today!

Shooting the TV (With a CAMERA!!!)
isn't the best, but I got this cool image below.
When watching TV, we do not "see"
what our eye registers.
Our brain always processes everything,
so we don't
"see" the lines and transitions
that the camera,
and our eye,
DO register.

It's all a matter of perspective.
Like EVERYTHING in life!

  Remember that.
It is why
"Walking  a mile in another shoes"
is so humbling and enlightening.

My Grandmother used to say:
"If everyone in the neighborhood
put all their problems on the front porch
we'd all be glad
to go home with
our own."

How right she was!

But let's try to remember,
the brother or sister
wearing uncomfortable shoes,
and what it must be like
to walk in them
every day.

Warmly, cloudia

" In everyone's life, at some time,
our inner fire goes out.
It is then burst into flame
by an encounter
with another human being.
We should all be thankful
for those people who rekindle
the inner spirit.  "

Fairy Wisdom

A   L   O   H   A  !
A Fairy's Love Song (Harp Solo) by Harp Music Collective on Grooveshark

click on these clouds, eh?
As a young girl,
Mona had been left orphaned
and unprotected.

She moved sadly
through her days.

One day, on a lonely walk through a meadow,
she saw a butterfly struggling to release itself
from a thorn bush.
Mona carefully released the butterfly
from its captivity.

Her freeing touch
caused the butterfly to change
immediately
into a beautiful fairy !

"In return for your kindness,"
the good fairy said,
"I will grant you any wish."

Mona thought for a moment
and said softly,
"I want to be happy!"

The fairy leaned forward,
whispered into the girl’s ear,
and flew off.

Mona developed into a beautiful woman.
She had left the sadness of her childhood
in the field where she had met and aided the fairy.

After that, Mona’s years were marked
by serene happiness.

 Mona lived a long life
nicely balanced
with friends & solitude.
 Eventually, of course,
she grew to be old.

As the end of her life drew near,
friends and admirers came
to comfort her, and to say good-bye
to this remarkable woman.

Mona’s last gift to her friends
was the real story
of her encounter with the fairy.

She shared with them the words
the fairy had whispered in her ear.
As Mona spoke, her eyes shone
with the joys of a lifetime
enriched by the treasure
contained in  the fairy’s message:

"Everyone,
no matter how secure they seem,
no matter how old
or young,
rich or poor,
has need of you. "
