Time Adequately

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Every place is a goldmine.
You have only to
give yourself time...
and soon the most
insipid, most insignificant
place becomes a mirror
of the world, a window
on life...
  Tiziano Terzani

Man is always inclined
to be intolerant towards
the thing, or person,
he hasn’t taken the
time adequately
to understand.
    Robert R. Brown

The tiger will see you
a hundred times before
you see him once.
   John Vaillant

Tigers and women
have something in common,
it is their disposition;
they must be treated
majestically.

Better Not Bitter

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Obstacles are a sign
you're doing something
you care about and
that matters to you.

that we let our lives

Vanished Art: This Face

 A L O H A From Honolulu!

In a world
full of
temporary things
you are
a perpetual
feeling.
Sanober Khan

This face
has been effaced.
Only temporary,
she swam on a
Construction Fence
about a decade ago.
Never meant to endure,
she looks at you,
saved by street photography.
I remember meeting her.
The world was different and
so was I.

For it is up to you and me
to take solace
in nostalgia's arms
and our ability
to create
the everlasting
from
fleeting moments.
        Sanober Khan

One clear moment,
one of trance
One missed step,
one perfect dance
One missed shot,
one and only chance
Life is all...but
one fleeting glance.
        Sanober Khan

The crown of life is

Nights and days came and passed
And summer and winter
and the rain.
And it was good to be a little Island.
A part of the world
and a world of its own
All surrounded by the bright blue sea.

Light Feels Right

A L O H A From Honolulu!
Small lights have
a way of being seen
in a dark world.
Neal A. Maxwell

You don’t have to
be a people-pleaser,
just a people-lover.
Beth Moore

Nothing can dim the
light that shines
from within.
 Maya Angelou

The world is so empty
if one thinks only of
mountains, rivers & cities;
but to know someone who
thinks & feels with us,
& who, though distant,
is close to us in spirit,
this makes the earth for
us an inhabited garden.
Goethe

Daily Work Continues

Only once you’ve [literally]
climbed a mountain in
the rain and cold
can you truly
enjoy your dinner.
Helen Russel

Stars don’t shine
because they want
to be seen.
They shine because
they are stars.

Afternoon Aftermath

A L O H A From Honolulu!
All the technique
in the world doesn’t
compensate for the
inability to notice.
    Elliott Erwitt

One joy scatters
a hundred griefs.
   Chinese proverb

Ahu is a Hawaiian altar,
shrine, or cairn
utilized for spiritual
and ceremonial purposes
in both the past and
the present...
Modern ahu are considered
as authentic as the
ancient structures,
being part of a
living Hawaiian culture that
still continues today.

Honolulu is many dialogues.
Here a 19th century wall
in a city park, and
her 20th century neighbor
enjoy the trees and hushed
traffic from Beretania St.

Age is frequently beautiful,
wisdom appearing like
an aftermath.
Benjamin Disraeli

My life is a roller coaster
on golden wheels;
IT IS NEVER GOING
TO BE PERFECT but
I am glad for
the perfect moments.
