Aloha!
After eight years our beloved islands will soon have a new governor.
“The vote is the most powerful instrumentever devised by manfor breaking down injusticeand destroying the terrible wallswhich imprison menbecause they are different from other men.”
Lyndon B. Johnson |
In a few short hours voting will end.
Tonight we will know.
“Individual rights are not subject to a public vote;a majority has no right to vote away the rightsof a minority;the political function of rights is preciselyto protect minoritiesfrom oppression by majorities(and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).”
Ayn Rand |
We need a new day
a fresh start.
Have YOU voted, American friends?
After all the attack ads based on a morsel of truth
shouting every moment
on all media,
after the high passions,
there will be
Quiet.
And we come together, fellow citizens all.
Yeah, RIGHT!
The battle for what is Pono (right) will continue. . .
"One of the greatest blessings that the United States could receive. . .
a great pause in her world of affairs. . .
We should be hushed and silent,
and we should have the opportunity to learn
what other people think."
John Cage

May the best and right candidate wins..Aloha
Great post, all too often people take the right - and privilege - of voting for granted. It was hard won and should be equally highly treasured.

Cloudia, I hope the voting will have a good result.
Our govermnent seems to be falling down: I think we'll need elections soon! ;-)
While I wish we could all get out and vote and show the naysayers that we are not apathetic and that we do believe change will happen but not in a mere 18 mos. after 8 years of economic chaos ... I still want everyone to get out and vote .. if you do not vote you can not whine about the outcome!
David and I voted 2 weeks ago via absentee ballot. Hope our guys win!!!
Let's hope the voting works out for the best.
Interesting and often apt sentiments. I observe your election as an outsider at one level, but one who will nevertheless be impacted by what your voters decide.
Nice, great post!
Just imagine if all the world would vote on the same day, for the best of leader, for peace and being kind ... a good result for you all and a peaceful Wednesday as well.

I voted via mail-in ballot, last week. Looks like the winds of change are blowing again, from the early returns.
Aloha and thank you
Voting feels almost as beautiful as your photos!! Lovely coming here and discovering your beautiful blog.
aloha
As always, Cloudia, your Hawaiian scenes are breathtaking.
What a lovely, decent political commercial. Kansas and Missouri ads have been disgusting. Since the Repubs have reclaimed Kansas, I gotta get to Hawaii. DrumMajor
I voted!!! Hope all your favorites won!!
You bet, I voted! I voted last week by absentee ballot. I am so tired of people telling me they don't vote because they don't think it makes a difference. I have no patience for that kind of thinking!
My guy lost. Oh, well, more amusement when the other guy says terrible things.
Saw Greg Mortenson (Three Cups of Tea) live last night!! Quoted Persian Proverb: It is only when it is darkest that you can see the stars. Googled that and found two other people, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Charles Austin Beard (who?) who are listed as having said that. Who is it, oh master of quotes? :-)
I have nothing good to say about this travesty other than since Citizens United V The United States of America decision was handed down by the SCOTUS America as it was ceased to be.
another great post from you !
The design of the sky is fascinating. . .
Thank you.

You're inspiring me!
ALOHA!

Shall be interested to know who won.
I've notice the quotes are often attributed to more than one person. Maybe they ALL said it?
Thanks for inspiring me!!!!!!
