Honolulu Seal

A  L  O  H  A !

" The City & County of Honolulu,
formerly Oahu County) includes
both the city of Honolulu
(the state's capital and largest city)
and the rest of the island of Oʻahu,
 as well as several
minor outlying islands,
including all of the
Northwestern Hawaiian Islands
(islands beyond Niihau)
except Midway Atoll.

 The county motto is
 Haʻaheo No ʻO Honolulu
 (Honolulu Pride).

It's a nice, well-designed seal.

Just like SF but not as warm. We hit above 92 degrees F today. Do you know what the symbols stand for? Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

I hate to be technical, but that looks more like a bas relief than a mural. It is a totally cool seal, though, and I really like the picture.

Not to be contentious ma'am but what of the way the government is sweeping up and out the homeless? Are they the nuisance that the mainland news media makes them out to be? Where is the pride in clearing away the most vulnerable in a society?

yes a bas relief - and yes, many issues in Honolulu that belie the motto
