A L O H A From Honolulu!
In quiet days
Where moments blend,
A tranquil life
My gentle friend.
No storms to chase
No fires to fight,
Just peaceful dawns
And soft twilight...
Hippeastrum
The world may call
For tales untold,
Adventures bold
And riches gold.
Yet in the calm
A treasure lies—
A steady heart
And clear, blue sky.
So if your life
Is calm and plain,
Be grateful
For the gentle rain...
Then in the quiet
You can find,
A soothing balm
For heart and mind.
Embrace the mundane's
subtle charm,
A life untroubled by alarm.
For in that stillness
Lies the art—
And beauty
Of a quiet heart.

Close the gap between yourself and your spirit--the person you know you can be. Let your choices reflect the person you want to become, not just the person you think you are.

I think that the purportedly Chinese curse 'May you live in interesting times' is truly vicious. I am grateful for my dull (and calm) existence.
L' Shana Tovah, Cloudia!
But your blog is a treasure in itself.
...enjoy the treasures that surround you.
How could I not resist listening to Down Town for the hundredth time.
Love the photos and views!
Maggie Smith will be missed.
Your poem is beautiful.
Take care, have a wonderful day!
Storms and fires are good metaphors for difficult life happenings.
Thanks for the reminder to "embrace the mundane's subtle charm" and find contentment in the little things of life.
Wonderful words today, Cloudia. I wish I was on the beach. ;-)
I love your cat!
Your poem is outstanding today, Cloudia. Thanks for the inspiration!
Today's poem is wonderful, Cloudia! Pixie looks like she's trying to wish herself into becoming a tiger... Have a glorious day!
I love the iconic Hawaii shot of the mountain and palm trees at the beach.
I'd never heard of Lucy. I found some interesting pictures on Yelp.
quiet days are wonderful
RIP Maggie
Calm is a wonderful state of mind if only we could live our lives without the intrusion of news and politics. It is hard to keep it simple with all the nonsense that it going on. But, it is worth a try ... Pixie looks like she has figured it out, so if she can, we should be able to, right? And I love the music ... came from the year I got married and I remember it well :)
