No Waste Of Time

 A L O H A  From

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. J. Lubbock

Live your life while you have it. Life is a splendid gift. There is nothing small in it. Florence Nightingale

Awamori (泡盛, Okinawan: アームイ,
āmui) is an alcoholic beverage
indigenous and unique to Okinawa,
Japan. It is made from long grain
indica rice, and is not a direct
product of brewing (like sake)
but of distillation (like shōchū).
The majority of awamori made
today uses indica rice imported
from Thailand, as the local
production is largely insufficient
to meet domestic demand,
which has risen considerably
in recent years. Awamori is typically 60–86 proof
(30–43% alcohol)

awamori sounds like a rugged drop.
Hooray for resting - and for fairy tales.

Oh that alcoholic beverage sounds so interesting, and quite a lot of punch I'd imagine! Love the Anderson quote with Pixie giving such a look of intensity!

It is difficult for me to rest in the sense of doing nothing. It is not that I am energetic, but I will tend to pick up the phone or tablet and do this or that with it. Unless, I am actively trying to nap, which is a different thing.

I love to sit and just watch the clods go by, Cloudia. ;-)

Some of my best childhood memories are lying on my back on the grass and watching the clouds drift by. Never a waste of time! Blessings, Cloudia!

The Western world needs to learn how to rest.
Maybe a generous pour of Awamori would help!

Love the sky shot at the beginning. Pixie looks a bit disapproving of the Awamori lions; she doesn't think they should be drinking on the job. Their lion dances depend on deftness and sobriety...

These days it is hard to just do nothing and relax as society makes you feel like you need to be constantly doing something. The first two quotes are our favorites.

I need to do a better job of following J. Lubbock's advice.

It seems I learn something new each T Tuesday. Today I learned about Awamori. It is perfect for T this Tuesday. Of course, we all may need a few good fairy tales in our lives (and Pixie, too). Thanks for sharing these quotes and the drink with us for T this week, Cloudia.

I remember having a sip of awamori in Japan. It's strong stuff. But I didn't know anything about it. Thanks for sharing that, and the beautiful hibiscus flower. Give Pixie a pat for me, and happy T day.

I had never heard of Awamori, so thank you for 'introducing' me to that. It sounds as strong liquor. I wonder if it tastes nice. Probably not.
I like the J.Lubbard quote. He is absolutely right of course. (I assume it is a 'he')
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
