Single Star Evening Star

A L O H A  From

H O N O L U L U

Even a single star
Can light up the evening sky.
A single star reminds us:
Hope can shine alone.

Sometimes, one star
Is all you need
To guide you home.

In the super-vast sky,
A single star
Can make  your
Universe less lonely.

Asclepias curassavica,

commonly called tropical milkweed,

bloodflower, cotton bush, Mexican butterfly weed, scarlet milkweed, and wild ipecacuanha, among other names. It is valued as a host and nectar source for butterflies, especially monarchs.

A gift comes to you
through no action
of your own, free,
 having moved toward you
without your beckoning.
It is not a reward;
you cannot earn it,
or call it to you, or
even deserve it. And
yet it appears. Your
only role is to be open-eyed
and present. Gifts exist
in a realm of humility
and mystery—as with
random acts of kindness,
we do not know their source.

Beneath the waves, where kelp sways slow, A love story bubbles, don't you know? Lobster lad, eyes so bright, This lovely lass his crimson delight. Their dance a waltz or slow ballet, Under the ocean where current and sunlight play. Briney whispers, a secret vow, Two armored hearts allow somehow Love's embracing oceanic sweep, Happy lobster love to hold and to keep! Their silent vow, a heartfelt click, Two lobster souls, forever linked. A love untold, yet understood, Two armored souls in together-hood. Salty sweet, this love they share, Lobster's vow crustacean prayer.

Pixie is definitely there with her eyes opened wide. I thought she was waiting for her star to arrive, but after scrolling down, I realized that she's waiting for lobster dinner ;)

The single star is a good metaphor for hope.

Oh two images to take away, thanks to your words...the star in the night to guide one, and the little lobster lovers beneath the waves!

It only takes one star shining, and I loved your poem about the lobsters. I'd heard that they mate for life! Blessings, Cloudia!

Dear Cloudia,
Your poetry always feels like a gentle breeze from the islands, carrying peace and quiet strength. The "Single Star" lines and the lobster love story are both beautiful – luminous and tender, just like your beloved Pixie. Please give her a soft cuddle from faraway Austria! 🌟🐈🌺
Wishing you a calm and soulful day,
