Manu O Ku -White Terns-
live in Honolulu's trees, laying
their eggs in a crook
of the branches.
They do not build nests.
When they have young,
the adults go to sea to
fish as usual, but they
bring small fish back to feed
their chicks. Sometimes
they drop one!
Like this flying fish!
Cheilopogon pinnatibarbatus,

a species of flying fish which
has a circumglobal distribution
in tropical and subtropical seas.

Seriously? They lay their eggs in the crooks of branches? With all the winds we've been having and bad weather, that would not have been safe. Wow!
Have a wonderful weekend, Cloudia!
