"Tiny People"

Like Sun, from the East,
may you continue
to rise, smile
and shine.
             Ogwo David Emenike

Most black cats have a hidden tabby pattern (often called "ghost stripes" or "ghost markings") that can be seen upon close inspection, particularly in bright sunlight.
All domestic cats genetically carry the tabby pattern, as it is the original wild-type coat pattern. For a cat to appear solid black, a separate "non-agouti" gene works to mask this pattern. This gene doesn't always do a perfect job, which is why the subtle stripes, spots, or swirls may still be visible.

Never say anything
about yourself
you do not want
to come true.
                 Brian Tracy

Allowing You cannot force
a bloom to rise, Nor hurry morning
to your skies.
But if you pause,
relax your guard, Then light will enter—
soft unbarred. No need to hunt
the peace you seek; It waits beneath
the noise, yet speaks

a voice of friendship,
not command, Just breathe
And pause. Reach out your hand. Joy grows where pressure
Disappears; Listening well.
Then it comes near!
What you choose
Begins the art Of allowing joy
Into your heart. Cloudia Charters

OH gosh, Cloudia. You are the most awesome poet. This is absolutely beautiful. Happy Hanukkah, dear friend. Thank you also for the reminder to wish my Israeli friend in Jerusalem a Happy Holiday too.

That info about cat’s coat patterns is fascinating!
Have a great winter holiday season — even though you don’t have any winter.

I love your poem and the factoid about Robert's Rabbit. Pixie looks miffed that she doesn't get to play with the Hanukkah candles instead of that "fake" cat. Happy Hanukkah!
