Cruel to be Cool

Flying Dragon

" If anything,

there's a sort of stigma

around doing good deeds

that's maybe not so cool.

I'm doing everything I can. . .

to figure out a way

we can make it cool,

or normal

to be kind

and loving. "

Lady Gaga

" I never forget a face,

 but in your case

 I'll be glad to make

 an exception. "

Groucho Marx

" The one who gives little

 with a smile
gives more than the one

 who gives much
with a frown. "

Music & Nostalgia

are sisters.

Music helps to make

and to mark

a certain moment

in Our Time.

Everyone

can love the Beatles

but only a lucky few

get to hear them

as a fresh new sound

at just the right

age !

Watching the old kinescope

even the Stones

seem sedate.

That "Damned Jungle Music"

was actually quite

musical.

Hard to remember,

to realize,

just how New

it all

once sounded.

Do YOU remember?

Expert Predictions!

A   L   O   H   A  !

That's ME!

“X-rays will prove to be a hoax.”

“Printed books

will never be the equivalent

of handwritten codices,

 especially since printed books

 are often deficient in spelling

 and appearance.”

Johannes Trithemius,

 German abbot and scholar

 “In Praise of Scribes”

" ENIAC is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes

 and weighs 30 tons,

computers in the future

may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes

and weigh only 1.5 tons.”

Popular Mechanics

 1949

What do the experts know?

My laptop

weighs in at only

One Ton

and uses only

Three Vacuum Tubes!

These days,

I seem to be learning

all the things

that I have been

wrong

about.

Once past the

embarrassment

it's actually been

liberating.

What have

Y O U

been wrong about?

Knowing

is not

'doing it.'

Understanding

is not something

to be filed

away,

or displayed,

yellowing,

on a trophy wall.

Use it-

-or lose it.

We all circle

through forgetting

and remembering

the things

that life has

taught us.

Cycles of Renewal

Seasons among which

we dance.

Take a moment.

What deep truth

of Your Own

have You filed away?

"Yeah, I know that."

Re-remember

now

your original insight.

Use the good silverware!

Another swirl

around the ballroom.

I love it when

You come here

and dance

with me.
