Extend Automatic

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Honolulu 7:11 pm
The more you extend
kindness to yourself, the
more it will become your
automatic response to others.
Wayne Dyer

Flanked By Red
To wear red is to be the fire
in the midst of the crowd.

Clearer Day By Day

When people look at my pictures
I want them to feel the way
they do when they want to read
a line of a poem twice.
   Robert Frank

Smart people are gracious.
Gracious people are smart. They have the confidence
and skills to communicate
without being mean or loud.

 "Honolulu  T.H."
[US] Territory of Hawaii *
Pre: 1959

The Territory of Hawaii was an organized incorporated territory of the United States that existed from April 30, 1900, until August 21, 1959. The territory was made up of eight islands that covered over 6,400 square miles.
The territory became the 50th state in August, 1959, following a referendum in which more than 93% of the voters approved the proposition that the territory should be admitted as a state.
Hawaii had been a sovereign constitutional monarchy until 1893, when the last Queen, Lili'uokalani, was deposed by a group of American sugar planters and missionaries, with the support of the US marines. Hawaii was an independent republic from 1894 until August 12, 1898, when it officially became a U.S. territory.

Turn Tides Scatter

A L O H A From Honolulu!

A single poem, alone
can turn tides scatter galaxies
and burst forth with rivers
from paradise.
 Sanober Khan

Ravenala madagascariensis,
traveller's palm or East-West palm,
from Madagascar. It is not a
true palm but a member of the family
     Strelitziaceae (Bird of Paradise)

If you want to know the truth
of who you are, walk
until not a person knows your name.
Travel is the great leveler,
the great teacher, bitter as medicine,
crueler than mirror-glass.
A long stretch of road will teach you
more about yourself than a
hundred years of quiet introspection.
 Patrick Rothfuss

I wander
from mind to mind.
     Avijeet Das

But dreams come
through stone walls,
light up dark rooms,
or darken light ones,
and their persons make their
exits and their entrances
as they please, and
laugh at locksmiths.
  Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu

When it is in flower
it is like it is in flame.
Wangari Maathai

Like a yawn of fire
from the grass it came,
And the fanning wind puffed
it to flapping flame...
Francis Thompson

Joy comes in sips,
not gulps.
