Clever Bananas, the portable fruit!
I've tried everything to keep them fresh
when all the time they were ready to go:
simply separate them
and they know that it is time to be portable,
they keep fresh and go along.
Such a companionable fruit!
The bunch of five
like a vegetal hand
reaching out
across the species barrier
as if to shake hands
(That's what they're called:
a "Hand of Bananas"
at least that's what I call them.)

This, I believe, is the first ode to a banana I have ever had the pleasure to read. Odd little fruit that it is.
I love very weel the blue pistyure.
I like to eat bannas when the skin is between green and yellow. Sometimes I cook banana jam. Yummy ! ALOHA, Cloudia !
Bananas actually do keep longer in those new green wrapper bags...lots of other veggies and fruits and lettuce, too.
Camp Fire Girl Bananas:
Keep peeling on and Cut off both ends, slice lengthwise, but not through the bottom peel.
Place on a foil square.
Pry open lengthwise and push little marshmallows and M&Ms into the banana's slit.
Wrap the foil around it.
Place on the bar-b-que coals for about 5 minutes.
Spoon out warm, sweet chunks of banana!

I like this ode to our yellow friend that comes with its own handle and dish and container. Bananas are also easily shared, let's not forget. Fun post.

Banana credibility? Who knew. I like to think that the bananas would want to stick together for as long as possible. I'm worrying about the personal lives of bananas, I am co-dependent, God help me.
What about those thingys that you hang them from, the ones that look like vertical incense holders...?

Bananas have such a-peel! What's not to love? When they start to over-ripen, peel them, put them in an air-tight bag and freeze them. When you're looking for a fruity blender drink, take them out and add them to a blender full of fruit juice, rum and other fruits. You'll love it. :)
Finally, the banana is elevated to a place in which it shines.
Ah now, I have three rather brown ones in my fruit bowl on the kitchen counter. I see a banana nut bread in their future. Love my bananas!!!! Can't wait for your coconut post :)
