"A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning,
as if supported by the rays of the sun,
a bird settled on the fire escape, joy in the task of coffee,
joy accompanied me as I walked."

For man, or for flowers or beast or bird,
the supreme triumph is to be most vividly and perfectly alive."

Ah, "Black Friday!"
Consumerism run riot.
Some commence a season of
hurry;
others of us
simply enjoy this annual
respite from the ordinary.
Whatever your day holds,
take a moment
to pause
and look at where you've come.
Congratulations!

Art isn't thrilled about going out tomorrow. I think we're just stopping at one place, maybe... and then again, maybe not.
Lovely to be with more bloggers on Hawaii! Do you meet? Have a great weekend!
My friend
I will take a pause because my computer goes to the "doctor" this afternoon.
See you soon, Cloudia and Aloha !
Education quote is excellent And very true. Thanks for sharing.
Today, as it has been for at least 20 years is, BUY NOTHING DAY. I will participate in that and continue the spirit of it until oh sayyyyyyyy february.
I don't know what "The Shopping Season" means?
And why can I comment on your blog when you can't comment on mine? I don't know that either!
Is there anybody out there who knows? Help!!!!
Lovely sayings and photos as usual. Glad you had a good thanksgiving Cloudia.
Black Friday means "stay in the black by staying home" for me. And make Christmas cards with my daughter. So much more to life than junk in the stores.
Thanks for this respite, too. I love the walking man's lesson. He seems to enjoy it, too!
Despite my wife's promising certain benefits when we return home I'm just not brave enough to go out and fight the insanity at the malls today.
Last year while in a department store I saw an old lady rip a toy out of a much younger woman's hands and run off. I was stunned.
Lovely shots.. that yellow on grey is stunning.
yes, the malls will be crowded today, which is why my daughter wants me to drop her off when she reports to work at the mall. No parking for her car!
Thanks for sharing your alternative viewpoint. I liked the first quote about the leaf dropping by. Today's pictures were marvelous! Do you think I can learn the hula by copying that statue?
I will definitely NOT be shopping this morning. Nice photo of Royal Hawaiian Vista! Aloha, cher!
I guess that this Christmas will be one of the first when we won't have bought any presents, but rather spending as much time as possible with eachother.
Great entry of yours!
A wonderful weekend for you.
Aloha!
I did a "shout out" to you in my post today!
I want the Mango ;-)
Aloha Cloudia!
Aloha friends!
What is that on the stones? Some sort of local fruit?
Baby coconut on the stones :)
I do not go shopping until the mood strikes and I truly feel in The Christmas Spirit.
Hope you had a fabulous holiday, dear Cloudia.
Hi Cloudia, new here, nice to meet you!
You have beautiful pics and quotes here - I'll be back
from Cairo, Egypt!
