boscage:

'a mass of trees or shrubs'

A L O H A !
Do click on these shots
A mass of palms below ,
like toys across the floor-

" You are
what you
repeatedly
do. "

Shaquille O'Neal

Usually we see them silhouetted against the sky -
not the ground

" Passion surprises.
One doesn't search it.
It can happen to you
tomorrow.  "

Isabelle Adjani

Green Shoots dream
of towering times ahead

" It matters not
what someone is born,
but what they grow up
to be. "

J. K. Rowling

" The greatest pleasure in life
is doing
what people say
you cannot do. "

Walter Bagehot

Sheltered

" You always pass failure
on the way
to success. "

Micky Rooney

Dream of tomorrow's scenes. . .

" What the heart knows today
the head will understand
tomorrow. "

So Shaquille O'Neal is constantly bounced on a wooden floor and thrown around by very tall men?

Saw several of those white egrets(?) around Honolulu. Saw roosters in Kauai! Your aerial view reminds me of model train landscapes: tiny and in place. DrumMajor

I do think Mr. Bird, or Mrs. Bird believes (really hopes) they are completely hidden from all wandering eyes....but I'm glad you caught a photo! To Rowlings quote I add, This day is your easel! Now we must use it up! Welcome to January 2012! I so enjoyed the walk about green grasses, fluffy clouds in rich blue skies, and stunning life waiting to be seen! We have a taste of real winter, finally...and it's really COLD! :)

Cloudia...I am curious...how do you decide the theme of your posts? I love that shot from above and the way you connect so many things together in such a meaningful way.

Gorgeous as always. I particularly like the shot captioned sheltered looking up through the palm(?) fronds.

And I love learning new words and it seems my garden is a boscage.

Those egrets are funny birds!

If I knew how I come up with,
and carry out these posts,
I'd surely tell you -
but it's a happy mystery.

I play with ideas, photos, quotes and magically something happens:

YOU come visit! WoW!

Thanks

I happened to come to your doorsteps through Kavita's blog. As regards this post of yours, I am astonished to find the variety of trees growing there. Beautifully captured. Incidentally I learnt that Hindus have a very large temple complex in Hawai. Could you post some thing aboput it. A very happy New Year to you and your family. Aloha.

All these quotes really struck a chord with me. One of his classmates told Art that he shouldn't do marathons and races, but should stick to things appropriate to his age... like golf.

That only made him get out there and run more.

I guess we have to do what we have to do.
