An Elephant never forgets !
The same happened at Riverbanks Zoo here in South Carolina. After an expansion of their habitat the elephants were visibly happier and healthier.

300 pounds seems such a lot until you put it into perspective! Maybe that's what I need to loose that last 5kgs, more room haha! It seems it was definitely the right time for you to make your move onto 'steadier' ground Cloudia.
