" The heaventree of stars

James Joyce

" The writer begins
with the arbitrary,
the accidental,
the insignificant,
and transmits them
into an object
that has intention,
design,
and significance. "

James Joyce

We construct our art,
our home,
our life,
from stuff we find
day to day.

That thing you notice
becomes a diadem;
Memory the jeweler
fastens diamonds
on your hem.

Thank YOU
for voyaging here,

Sentence by sentence, Joyce was a lovely writer. But I'm afraid I don't think much of his storytelling abilities. These are great quotes though.

Joyce was a great taker of risks, and he opened our minds to different ways of expressing what we see and feel. And he had lousy eyes! Thanks for this post.
