Researchers at the University of Wisconsin
conducted an experiment
with girls ages 7 to 12
in which they exposed the girls
 to the stress of speaking
to a group of strangers.
Afterward, a third of the girls
 were hugged by their mothers,
a third spoke to mom on the phone,
and a third
watched a film.
While measured stress rose
 in the movie watchers,
the stress in both other groups
dropped equally.
"That a simple phone call
could have this
physiological effect on oxytocin
is really exciting."
Co-investigator Seth Pollak
told Scientific American.

Nietzsche's remark sounds like a clever one, but I think it more true than it might appear. Good choice.

I would have shown them the Godfather. That always relieves stress for me.

I won't characterize them as "great" thoughts but I certainly have a lot of thoughts while walking myself.

Yes, talking to mom, or a great friend is therapeutic.

Skype was invented by genius, that's what my happy parents told me after long conversations with their relatives in other country, Georgia. I think about it after reading your post, the research is so true.
Thank you for visiting and commenting, thank you for remembering!

Dr Seuss was such a clever man. And destressing through a hug or a phone call is always good.
