is not about winning

It’s about self-esteem,

In 1981,
Dave Shoji became
the first full-time coach

Our beloved Rainbow Wahine.
What an amazing ride it's been!
On friday night Coach Shoji
achieved
his 1,107th career win
- an all time
NCAA Division 1 record!
And Dave's not done yet.
So congrats to a person

Good images Cloudia....wish you a nice day.
Greetings, Joop
Beautiful thoughts and images. Have a nice day, Cloudia!
women certainly face social barriers when it comes to sports. You won't find many schools that even female football players even if they're stronger than half the team put together.
Love your team pride Cloudia.
Gorgeous rainbow pic too !
thank you Cloudia for the lovely images and words and congratulations to Coach Shoji! and all those fortunate to be involved.
Thank you cloudia for the inspiration.
(i love that little girl and her cheeks.) :)
I do think that sports, particularly team sports, can teach some important things to kids. The coach makes a huge difference in that, in the teaching of good stuff instead of bad.
Without Title 9 and great coaches women's sports would not have progressed to the point they are today.
beautiful images and lovely words to inspire!!

Happy Sunday.
Jolly Happy Joy JOY!
You wouldn't believe how happy this comment party makes me:-) .
Thanks each of YOU
There are so many people to be proud of and that's one of the best things of all!
I saw this on the news. I'm not a big sports fan, but he really looks like a modest, effective coach. We're lucky to have him. Have a great Sunday, Cloudia.
Go the Rainbows - literal and metaphorical.
Here in my city we have an elderly woman who for the last decade (at least) has been making HUGE pots of home-made soup and driving around to ensure that the needy have access to a hot and healthy meal. With some love added - to the pot and the delivery. She is most definitely one of my heroes.
How cool is that! Great news.
You brought back fond memories cheering on the Bows! We once saw him at a movie theatre and were star-struck:)
Lovely post, Cloudia.
Thanks pals
NIce Venus quote...self-belief does go a long way :)
