I agree with Hilary! It's a fabulous, well written, very interesting book!
The book is very readable in that slowly you come to understand the culture shock and then the adaptation of the taxi driver into a new culture so oddly different than the one left behind.
Grand book; it's not the mainland! I nice break from boring mainland life; really great "down with the folks" info on the Islands, mixed with a tad of history. Brave author!
