In Which I See a FOX

A  L  O  H  A !
The Fox by Wes Montgomery on Grooveshark
No foxes in Hawaii, but is that. . . . ?

“ A fox
passing through the wood
 on business of his own
stopped several minutes
and sniffed. ”
                      J.R.R. Tolkien,
                                      The Fellowship of the Ring

Bushy tail, pointy snout, ears pricked-
Ready to bolt at their approach

“ Hungry for beautiful words,
the fox comes rooting
around in the hedge. . .
 He reads my mind
with one glance and is
gone. ”
                  Jay Woodman

Beguiled by a Kitsune!

“Nothing's perfect,"
sighed the fox. ”
 Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,
The Little Prince

" When a fox is fifty years old,
 it can transform itself
into a woman.

When it is one hundred,
it becomes
a beautiful woman
or a shaman;

Some become men
 and have sex
with women.

They can know events
from more than a thousand li away
and are good at witchcraft,

beguiling people and
 making them
lose their senses. "
                           Guo Pu,
                                   Records from Within the Recondite

Thank You
for magically
appearing here!
               Warmly, cloudia

A lovely post, playful and romantic.

And there was I thinking you had actually discovered an unknown phenomenon.

Still, I enjoyed myself.

P.s. I wonder if there were any Aussies out there riding the Hurricane Ana waves? Thankfully Pixie didn't become survival dinner :) :)

Very, very cool. Of course the Chinese fox fairies beguile men with their insatiable appetites for sex...They literally drain the men dry.

You fooled me at first too! ;-)

I totally fell for it. :) I think you couldn't manage to sculpt something to look more like a fox from a distance than this. Very cool.

You had me looking more than once and wondering!

SO cool that you folks (esp the Canadians :) who HAVE seen foxes were fooled! I wasn't sure that this would "fly" but a Teresa points out: Fox Spirits are powerful beings in Asian culture.

Yes, Perth, I'm certain that some OZ folk are here thoroughly enjoying NATURE!

Thanks each of YOU! I really enjoy our sharing-
