Today is the day.
The day
you don't know about.
The day
you don't know about.
After 30 years
We are going
'Somewhere Else'
Not to visit for a few days,
but to live for a while.
A new home.
A new home.
All the hopes
of making it here. . .
I remember the day
we got our
Hawaii Drivers licenses;
The day I got my degree
from University of Hawaii.
I know these streets so well,
driving over them so many
days and nights
as a taxi driver,
health out-reach
to the sex workers,
Riding motorcycles
in the pack. . .
Special ocassions
with family & friends
long gone. . .
I have a memory
for every block,
every beach,
every stretch of
country road.
On 4 wheels
and two.
Lots of
"Used to be"
and
"When did they build THAT?"
I'm leaving a lot
of myself
on these streets,
roads. . .
I cannot think
about my friends
and Ohana,
The Local Culture,
without crying. . .
Aloha Neighbors!
What seemed unthinkable
[leaving]
is subsumed in a bigger
dream.
A fresh begining
in a beautiful new place.
Instead of retiring
in place, we are
fresh and new
- beginning again -
as we did here.
.
30 years.
Half of my life.
Here's to the next
Third!
I'm very glad
that YOU are coming
along!
Our blog party family
is portable!
[Thank Goodness!]
So ride the spiral.
See where we are landing-
Oh I know we'll visit Honolulu.
Nights in my dreams,
and some sunny day...
at least for a visit. . .
I Shall Return.
There may be a few
scheduled posts
as we sort out
internet connectivity.
I may not be visiting
as normal for a while.
But stick around.
Something good
is set to publish tomorrow.
Kitty and I will be
learning new routines.
LOVE YOU!

Honolulu I Am Coming Back Again
Andy Cummings
Chorus:
" I seem to hear the Pali calling me
I seem to hear the surf at Waikiki
And from Pacific Heights
I seem to see the lights
Of a city that is very dear to me
I seem to see the waving sugar cane
The coco palms all nodding in the rain
In fancy I am led
Back to dear old Diamond Head
Back to dear old Diamond Head
Honolulu, I am coming back again
Honolulu, I am coming back again. "

Wow. It's hard leaving a loved place, but now you'll have two loved places. Makes sense, the reasoning behind your move. I wish you nothing but the best, dear Cloudia.
We all look forward to totally new blog pictures and impressions.
Shalom, go toward peace.
Oh my goodness. I am surprised (especially after reading your book) AND I wish you well in your new home. I left Hawaii 41 years ago but only after living there for 7 years. It remains in my heart and I know it will in yours. Warmest best wishes to you. xx

An exciting day, Cloudia! You are brave to make such a big move but I'm sure it will turn out to be the right move!
Our Kitty moved twice with us and he handled it much better than I did!

Wow! I knew you had some big news, but didn't think it would be that you're moving. I think you're the kind of person who will find happiness wherever you are. Enjoy the new adventure!
Thanks for the very real blessings
I wish you a lovely new beginning, and a joyous life in your new place! I'll be watching for further news as you find time. Be happy; and keep your Hawaii spirit with you. Aloha, dear friend!

So hard to leave anyplace after 30 years, but especially Hawaii! New beginnings are great, and I know you will make the most of it!! I'll be checking back often.
Much appreciated dears
All the best for the new place of residence and admit that you are brave. I would have had a lot of concerns. Best wishes.

Aloha Cloudia, take all the time you need, (I know the feeling of being off the grid this busy time of year) safe travels, and may happiness follow you to your new home, and I'm so excited for your new beginnings! Life is a most "anything is possible" journey!
I thought it might be this news when you asked for me to pop in and take a look.
Happy Landings dear Cloudia and blog-invisible significant other!
You are both very brave.
Best wishes for a Happy Move!
May your dreams come true, Cloudia!!
Have a Great Weekend!
Peace :)
I had to scroll back to see when the big day was. It's hard for me to think of you as living anywhere but Hawaii.. but I know you were elsewhere before and that you had plans to be still elsewhere again. May your future be bright. I don't doubt it will. And I look forward to hearing all about it.
