No Telling

A    L    O    H    A  !
Besides the noble art of getting things done,
there is the noble art of leaving things undone.
The wisdom of life consists in the
elimination of non-essentials.

Love much. Earth has
enough of bitter in it.

There is no chance, no destiny, no fate,
that can circumvent, or hinder or control
the firm resolve of a determined soul.
                 Ella Wheeler Wilcox

They say you can't control what happens,
only your response to it.

But the longer I live, the more clearly
I see how each of us makes
the version of reality that we believe in.

We reinforce our view of ourselves,
others, and of the larger world, by the
things we say, do, and notice.

Mostly by finding what we expect.
Very few of us are willing
to discover where we are wrong,
even though that represents
a liberation and birth of
new possibilities.

We would rather be right
than happy; to win an
ultimately pointless argument
than to cherish a relationship.

Perhaps it would be valuable
for everyone to take a break
from all our normal routines
and spend time alone.

Call it a fast, a retreat,
a penance, a voyage of
self discovery.

Imagine the possibilities
of every person in the world
ready to do things better,
in possession of newly earned
humility, compassion,
fellow-feeling, and hope.

No telling WHAT
could come of
THAT!

I'm still surprised by the ugliness out there. Hopefully kindness can overcome it.

If that is true how very sad. Why must mankind be so foolish?

These are crazy times, Cloudia. I hope you are staying safe.
I'm fighting cataracts, with no hope in sight. 'Scuse the pun. My eye is increasingly cloudy and I am so worried about it.
Hubby managed to get his cancer treatment shot in the parking lot of our GPs office in a snow storm.

I always adore your beautiful photos that go so perfectly with your quotes. I do hope you are wrong about so many people preferring to be right than happy. I have found since the lock down, people have been kinder and more thoughtful. I just hope that attitude continues.

Gotta love the kitty, Cloudia. Thanks for sharing your incredible photos of your beautiful island with us for T this Tuesday.
