Fresh Hope

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Respair
means a time of
recovery
from despair (Noun)
and to have
    Fresh Hopes again. (Verb)
Circa 1525

Bambusoideae
are a lineage of perennial
forest grasses (Poaceae)
endemic to every continent
except Europe and Antarctica.
They comprise 115 genera and approximately 1450 species
of bamboos.

If we had no winter,
the spring would not
be so pleasant: if
we did not sometimes
taste of adversity,
prosperity would not
be so welcome.
  Ann Bradstreet

Love tickles
parts of you that,
prior to its influence,
you didn't even
know could feel.
Richelle E. Goodrich

To improve your life:
pay your irritability
no mind. Consider it
a prompt to do or say
something nice instead.

Dolce far niente!
The sweetness
of doing nothing.

Hope is a fragile essential.

Love the word "respair." We need to recover it and use it often. Pixie is not doing nothing; she is being exceptionally cute to cause us to respair.

Doing nothing is quite a way to spend a day.

"If we had no winter..."
What is winter in Hawaii? A week of 70 degree temps in February?

Cloudia said...

There are seasonal changes, Mike, that locals perceive, and the Hawaiians of old understood much more intimately. It is just enough for me to appreciate the sunny days more. If it's raining in January in Honolulu you will see people in jackets and others in bathing suits. Guess which are local and which tourists?

Each of these comments is so engaged and authentic. Communication with you who I've come to know and care about. What more is friendship than this?

Love you, Pals!
