We teach the world

With every glance  

How close to come

How far to dance.

Deeper still

The air we share  

Is woven from

The way we care.  

The light

That others cast on us  

Becomes our dawn

Our day, our trust;

We walk in atmospheres 

Of thought,  

In warmth or chill that 

We have bought.  

Kindness may linger

Soft and slow,  

Like green shoots 

Appearing after snow.

But careless words

Or shadows thrown,  

Can turn a garden

Into stone.  

We train the hands

That hold our hearts,  

And become the person 

Our behavior imparts.

So let us tend

The air we make,  

With every promise

Every ache;  

For in the space

Between each soul  

This climate we share

Can make us whole.
