Rice Bird

The voice of an angel is a melody that carries the whispers of hope, the echoes of love, and the promise of a
brighter tomorrow. Septimus Winner Whispering Hope,
song written in 1868

The beach is
not always a place, Sometimes it is just
a pause in your day when the noise recedes like a tide that knows
when to leave. In the hush
between thoughts, No shoreline in sight, something inside loosens. Horizon behind your ribs. You stand there, not needing to move, no need to arrive, Just feel the waves
that find you. No shoreline in sight, Cloudia Charters

You don’t take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it. Author Unknown

Make each day
your masterpiece. John Wooden

A Java Sparrow,
also known as Java finch
or Ricebird. Endangered
in its native Indonesia,
there are thriving introduced
wild populations in Hawaii.

In Art!

The Java sparrow has been

a popular cage bird in

Asia for centuries, frequently

appearing in Japanese paintings

and prints. Meiji-era writer

Natsume Sōseki wrote an

essay about his pet Java sparrow.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s

the Java sparrow was one of the

most popular cage birds in

the United States until its

import was banned.

I love your poem and the information about the Java sparrow. Is Pixie contemplating an encounter with a sparrow in that shot?
