I Think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
Joyce Kilmer

of writing avoidance."

There's never any awkwardness;
I think I love Kitty's
sincerity
most of all.
ALOHA, cloudia

I agree with cats being the perfect reason not to write. And we all look for those reasons, don't we?
That banyan tree (I think that's what it is) looks like it has hair. :-)
Each tree is a drama and each cat a drama queen.
Very nice poem, I like it! The cat, oh, it's a real pussycat...
Servus and have a nice day

The trees look like they are hanging several long extensions out to dry. And Pirate Kitty is so cute. What does he do when you go walkin'? DrumMajor
That first kitty pic is just begging for a lolcat-style "oh hai!"
Loved this picture ! How I wish I had a bit of Hawaian sun on my back now.....
Love your quotations and poems.I look forward to you posting some Cloudia words too!
Each tree has a character and a story of its own.Loved the poem.
I've never seen that tree before - it's like hair or tinted spaghetti!
Cats, nope. I'm not a cat person.
Aloha,
from sunny Cairo!

That's some kind of spanish moss on those trees eh? We have a very similar moss here that really is intersting.
Beautiful photos, but I don't need a kitty to keep me from writing - I have plenty of excuses.
Two of my favourite things.. trees and cats. Those trees are just gorgeous! That first feline image is wonderful. What is she looking through?
I was able to sing along with your poem Cloudia - lovely words. As for the cat - don't think for one moment that you own him -he owns you.
Love the tree photo, reminds me of the trees in Louisiana. And since I don't have a kitty, I have no excuse. Aloha!
I love that poem!
Such gorgeous trees, too!

Love the kitty! Love the trees.
I love the Dan Greenburg quote...it is so, so TRUE. :)
Aloha! Wonderful photos!
I love that poem and I love cats!

What a nice challenge to write a "tree of a poem".
Somewhere I did read that cats are in poetry already. Maybe that's why they like to climb upon them.
Please have a nice Thursday.
Miss drama Kitty is looking in through the porthole over my "desk" here on-board our boat.
The tree is a banyan reaching new roots to the ground, but the groundskeepers are no letting it expand.
Thanks for coming over today.
Jolly Party!!!!!
Love cats, they are such good companions, even with the drama queen stuff, and I like the banyon tree.
Aloha, G!
Well, well Cloudia...you know me and cats...lol
Kitty looks a lot like my Goldie, aka G-Rod and G-man. (As a teeny -tiny, we thought he was a girl...)
Love the trees and LOVE Joyce Kilmer.
Big smoochies across the waves to you!!!
Perfect shot Cloudia the tree looks different. Never seen that kind of tree. I like the poem too.
That kitty is yours? Pretty and looks adorable.

aloha!
Yes. I am lucky to have such a kitty girlfriend and YOU!
I have dogs. I love cats too, but we have coyotes so no kitties for me. I will make due with admiring them from afar.
Each tree is a drama and each cat a drama queen.
