Meanwhile, on the Big Island, Madame Pele - the volcano goddess-is putting on quite a show!
Leaping 60 feet in the air. . . pouring glowing lava down newly opened fissures in the earth:
Thanks for visiting today, cloudia

Fascinating and fearing!!
Greetings from Athens..
I'm so wanting to go over to the Big Island to see this. I wish it weren't so expensive to fly there now.
Amazing, eh?
wonderful images and lovely quotes!

aloha!!
It's a hot time over here. But for the time being it's closed off. Best to wait until things settle down and secure viewing is possible again.
Yeah, too bad the way we don't have any ferry service, isn't it.
wow, that's some volcano. thanks for sharing it with us.
Once again it seems our nascent plans to visit Hawaii we were working on have been shot down by the crazy oil prices. Got to plan such a trip long in advance and right now my wife and I are worried something might completely derail then.
Great pictures Cloudia, they will have to do for me until things calm down.
I was on the Big Island 3 weeks ago and saw it at a distance. Your pictures are beautiful.
I'll always remember seeing lava pour into the ocean at night. The vapors knock you over, but the heat it truly amazing! I used the experience in my little novel.
Thanks for your dear visit!
oh wow. do you folks ever get nervous when this happens?
Like your pics! Heard about Kilauea having a major blow n poisonous clouds- They said new fissures my open n all the tourist camps are closed up.
In college Earth Science, I learned all Hawaii's islands were formed by hot spots n built up hardened lava. Japan had a 7.2 earthquake today, maybe related to the seismic action there.
It is so fascinating- but don't get too close!
Aloha!
The volcano video is scary! :0
You always find such wonderful things to share.
