Mornings in Waikiki
are usually peaceful.
But my walk to the post office
yesterday morning
was very different.
Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State,
was speaking at my alma mater
University of Hawaii;
Treasury Secretary Geithner
was holding a meeting nearby.
But this was

The BIG show
was heading right for Waikiki.
Vacationers/holiday makers
looked on with interest.
Honolulu Police Officers
in their APEC Aloha finery
were there:
President of the People's Republic of China
HU JINTAO

The pride of this young couple

A nice virtual tour of the visit.Enjoyed the pictures :)
well done.
Another wonderful moment in awe...looks like it was a happy event for all! One question, are there ever any gloomy days around where you live? The sunlight just seems to radiate from so many of your photos......stunning views always.
Is that one woman in pink shorts wearing a mustache?
Did you ever get to the post office?
such colour and warmth !!!
You did a great job capturing all that.
mmm, when leaders come, the people exprss themselves. A cry to be heard.

And yes, is that woman wearing a mustache??
I wondered who was gonna notice the girl in pink shorts. Interesting!
Appreciate these great comments. Thank You.
Today is raining with patches of blue and rainbows. Not sunny but still beautiful.
Yes, I got my mail, and have till 6pm tonight to get it from my box before the area is locked down till Monday. Barack is hosting the other leaders RIGHT there tomorrow
Oh! the girl in pink shorts has her HAIR CLIP in her mouth. she must have been putting her hair back and got distracted by the hullabaloo.
For the record, I'd be visiting Hawaii, too, if I could! :)
Too much excitement for a country bumpkin like me, lol.
They can stay home, or go to the cities...I'll just tend my chickens...
