“I had always found comfort
in the leaves,
in their silence.
They were like
They were like
a parchment
that holds words
of wisdom.
Simply holding them
Simply holding them
in my hand
gave me
gave me
some of the peace
a tree possesses.
To be like that-
To be like that-
to just be-
that's the most noble
thing of all.”

A Parchment of Leaves

Lovely thought, lovely image. And of course paper has indeed been made out of leaves since time immemorial.
i have often found peace among the trees as well...none more so than in fall...their crinkle like parchment makes for great chatter....smiles...lovely verse to share...

Lovely post and a good picture Cloudia..... nice done.
Greetings, Joop
This perspective is a nice change. I like leaves then they provide shade from the tree. A tad annoying when I'm on bag #32 to pick up the pretty little parchments each fall. After a windy day, they made an arrangement on my steps like piles of drifting snow. How many bags would you like? Enough to run and jump into a pile with a wet lollipop? absolute perfection... the leaf, the words... thank you again Cloudia.

A beauty of a leaf, perfect words for it too...and for today.
I used to have a study on the second floor in amongst the trees - they gave me hope on many a dark day..... Eery Blessing
I have seen leaves that are beginning to dry and flakes are falling away, leaving behind a scrawl that looks like elven writing. Sometimes I almost feel I can read it.
Next year I'll definitely be turning over a new leaf.
New Leaf, ha!
Elven writing. . . mmmmmm!
You folks bring TREASURES! Thanks so much
