Parchment Pages

A L O H A !
“I had always found comfort
 in the leaves,
 in their silence.
 They were like
 a parchment
that holds words
of wisdom.
Simply holding them
 in my hand
 gave me
some of the peace
a tree possesses.
 To be like that-
to just be-
that's the most noble
 thing of all.”

 Silas House,
A Parchment of Leaves

Lovely thought, lovely image. And of course paper has indeed been made out of leaves since time immemorial.

This perspective is a nice change. I like leaves then they provide shade from the tree. A tad annoying when I'm on bag #32 to pick up the pretty little parchments each fall. After a windy day, they made an arrangement on my steps like piles of drifting snow. How many bags would you like? Enough to run and jump into a pile with a wet lollipop? I used to have a study on the second floor in amongst the trees - they gave me hope on many a dark day..... Eery Blessing

I have seen leaves that are beginning to dry and flakes are falling away, leaving behind a scrawl that looks like elven writing. Sometimes I almost feel I can read it.
