Today We Vote

A  L  O  H  A !

I love Hawaii!

Election signs for:

A Hapa-Haole Appearing local guy link

 Marshall

Hawaiian

Brickwood
[ my State Senator ]

Chinese-American:
[ by way of Malaysia]

Djou

Local Ethnic-Japanese American:

Takai

ALL on a popular
local family operated
Chinese Restaurant!

THAT'S HAWAII STYLE-

If it is Election Day
near You:
V O T E !

People died for this.

In wars over seas,
in civil rights actions
 at home.

The first western democracy
in ancient Greece
was a direct
meet-argue-vote
situation.

Not everyone participated
in the discussion,
or the voting
YET.
But the basic idea
was good.

As the Vikings,
the  Iroquois,
and other First Nations
 knew as well.

Town Meetings today,
even family meetings,
show the survival of this
basic impulse
to have a say
in the things that effect
our lives;
To disagree, yet cooperate.

Thanks for voting
for our Comfort Spiral
by visiting here.
            Warmly, cloudia

The names show that Hawaii's population is made of many ethnic groups. Great post, Cloudia! I am voting today too.

Aloha Cloudia, Happy Voting Day! You bet I'll be inside a polling booth, curtains drawn soon, as my vote (as well as others) counts!

We won't have to think about an election here until sometime next year, when the feds are at the end of their term.

Happy voting.
And I love that despite their background and their heritage so many people count themselves as Hawaiians first.
