Hawaii Sock Weather

A  L  O  H  A !
"Some people confuse
 blurting out whatever
crosses their mind,
with honesty;
But that is like
calling a burp
a song. "
            Cloudia Charters

" When you build
bridges
you can keep
crossing them. "
                          Rick Pitino

We are freezing.
I am wearing socks
as I write this.

You can tell locals
from Honolulu visitors:
Locals are wearing sweaters,
jackets, fashionable boots.
Visitors
are going to the beach
in bathing suits.

It didn't get above
73f yesterday!
And what awesome
sleeping weather
in the low/mid 60s.
73 degrees F = 22.78 degrees C

A front full of rain & wind
passed through last night,
but it looks like the President
might just get in a
game of golf today.

[that was written yesterday.
He took the girls
to the beach]

What fun it's been
to see the girls,
sometimes hand in hand
with their Dad.

How great
that Barack & Michelle
spent time with military
families on Christmas
as they always do.

And the wedding that got moved
for presidential golf?
The military couple understood
that such things can happen,
and said
it made their wedding day
speaking informally with
the President:
"My bosses bosses bosses boss!"
As they happily put it.
[ceremony moved to a
 'prettier' location close by]

)i(

Thank You
for visiting-
Sightings of YOU
stir up almost as much
excitement as a
Presidential motorcade!
               Fondly, cloudia

Had to giggle with that first quote ~ how true .
New England had a warm spell last week in the mid 60s broke a record one day as we are usually freezing here this time of year . It did snow last night though :)
Hugs to you sweet one.

Oh I do love that first quote! So very true... Lucky you with your cool weather - we're in for 42 degrees Celsius tomorrow... ugh. Thanks so much for following my blog!

Oh you made me smile with your description of locals and tourists, it's exactly the same here, 21C and we're pulling on the cardi's :)

Aloha Cloudia, funny thing we often go to the beach in the 70's! We're loading up on extra winter accessories again today as well! It's currently (sit down before you read this) -4 degrees Brrrrrr!

If it went up to 50˚F here you would see people out in shorts!

oh, you MUST be freezing! store the flip flops! :)

we're above freezing this morning with a sharp northern wind that makes it feel like 21F. tonight it will drop to that actual temp. plenty cold for texas, although we've often been colder.

we had the AC on two days ago. A "cold" front moved in yesterday so it's nice today.

Love the first quote. Who said it?

We've had cold weather here in southern California, too. It's even gotten down into the 30s near the beach.

Stay warm, Cloudi. Thanks for the update on the first family and for giving us perspective on the disrupted wedding!

Thanks! The top "quote" like all unattributed writing on the blog are my own words. Glad you like it! 😸♥

Oh I would gladly trade weather with you, right now. We're covered with snow and over the next few days we're expecting lows of -32 (-26F). Want a visitor? ;)

Boo hoo! No sympathy 28°F right here right now. Drizzle and ice too.

How true Cloudia's quote is! She's so wise, don't you agree? :))

My sweet spot is lower than yours. 14C is the point at which I am most comfortable. Here in the sweaty season I am envying people with snow, ice and low temperatures.
The weather (like grass) is always greener over the fence.
Love your first quote. And would add how rarely those honest *burpers* feel inspired to tell people nice things about themselves...

We're cold here, but the woodpeckers are happy!

Happy New Years, haha and some people burp quite a bit. I would love to see Hawaii some day. It's has been cold, snowy and icy here.

Freezing being a relative term in this case, Cloudia: we had snow yesterday well into the night, followed by freezing rain, and now everything's encased in ice.

If Hawaii is in need of an Ambassador...the job should be yours.

Stay warm.

It's cold here too (MT). I love your thoughts on burping/singing.

Nice weather for sleeping and walking on the beach while wearing a windbreaker.

Ok, dear Cloudia -- I can send you some heavy socks and L.L.Bean ankle high slippers, my turtleneck waffle-weave shirt and heavy sweatpants that keep me warm when it's -17 windchill outside this early morning in K.C. Just a little jogging, and your 71 would be HOT! You must snuggle with Miss Pixie to keep warm! Glad the Prez gets to rest in Hawaii...he deserves more time off. Watch a penguin movie, then you'll feel warm outside. DrumMajor

We had a pretty mild day also, I think it got over 60. Glad the Pres and family are enjoying some down time.

Nice and great photos.

LOL on your comment about locals and visitors. Some years we winter in Far Norht Queensland and it evident there who are locals and who are the visitors. Coats versus tshirts and shorts. I mentioned this to another camper one day and their remark was 'If I wanted to wear a coat I'd have stayed at home'!
Enjoy your blog Claudia - often visit first time I've commented.
Take care
