Light Will Find a Way
What we cannot control,
we must endure. And
enduring, we overcome.
Hold your ground of Heaven.
Live the Laws of Love.
Whatever happens, keep
in light and endure.
No storm lasts forever.
Humans Gather. Children Remember That.
True wisdom lies
in gathering
the precious things
out of each day
as it goes by.

Generous Nature Provides
As children, we are very
sensitive to nature's beauty,
finding miracles and interesting
things everywhere.
As we grow up, we
tend to forget how
beautiful and magnificent
the world is.

Pink Palace
In 1925, the Territorial Hotel Company, decided to demolish the Honolulu Seaside and replace it with a large, modern resort.[1] They contracted Warren and Wetmore to design the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The sprawling pink stucco concrete faΓ§ade Spanish/Moorish styled complex, built at a cost of over $4 million (1927 prices), was surrounded by a fifteen-acre (60,700 m²) landscaped garden. The H-shaped layout featured 400 rooms, each with bath and balcony.[1] The complex had an offsite golf course, today known as the Waialae Country Club.
The hotel commenced operations on February 1, 1927, with a black tie gala attended by over 1,200 guests, and quickly became an icon of Hawaii's glory days. The hotel was a huge success, and in 1928 the islands counted over 20,000 visitors for the first time.[1]
During World War II, the Royal Hawaiian was used exclusively by the US military as an R&R center.[2] Barriers of concertina wire blockaded access from the adjacent beaches. Link *

You are surrounded with so much beauty that it has permeated who you are ... and that requires that you see, absorb and appreciate what is before you. Your post is so beautiful and I do remember seeing the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in many programs. Sadly I have never made it to your beautiful home, but my son and his wife went recently and were in awe. Love your little kitty especially, but all of the beautiful scenes and flowers and palm trees ... I envy you as I am surrounded with corn fields (that admittedly have a beauty of their own) that lack the charm that surrounds you. Beautiful post, Claudia ...
