The Historic tree endured the fire
Next morning the sun shone bright
Birds sang in the branches
And the banyan tree stood tall
A symbol of hope and strength
It had faced the fire
And like our Hope
Survived

I'm hoping the banyan tree can regrow what it lost. I didn't know the birdies were back. I saw one reporter's video that showed the horrid landscape, and yep, there were those darn colorful roosters, running around the ground wondering what happened to all of their shrubbery and hiding places! They weren't colorful but covered in soot, so I guess those feral birdies are there to stay! Linda in Kansas
Thanks for sharing this lovely post. I am so glad the banyan tree survived. Pixie is wondering why you think she isn't perfect. Great choice of songs, too.
I really, really hope that the Banyan Tree survives the coming days and months. Such a powerful reminder of strength and beauty. Which we all need.
Bless you friends
But that floor that gives a perfect reflection of Pixie is also perfect.
Beautiful pixie stature.
Hello,
I think everyone wants the Banyan Tree to survive and stay strong Lahaina!
Beautiful post and photos! Take care, have a great day and happy week!
I saw the tree on the news and hope it continues to thrive. Pixie looks quite regal today.
Pixie and her reflection are quite serene.
Thanks so much. Aloha friends!❤️
Such beautiful photography and quotes. I love seeing Pixie too.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Cloudia. Scritches to Pixie. ♥
Pixie and her reflection are absolutely beautiful.
That cat reflection is fantastic. And I agree, youth is probably living right, how quick they are to ease into enthusiasm, joy, delight....and thank you for sharing the link to help those affected by the fires. It's so terrible. And the loss of life is devastating. I hope the worst is over now. And I hope the mainlanders, and the rest of the world really chip in to help. #THeRandom
Great photo of Pixie.
So glad to see you posting, I have been thinking about you ande the fire on Hawaii
What a devastating fire on Maui. I'm glad to know you are safe, and pray for those who lost loved ones and homes.
Thanks for joining us at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/08/on-road.html
Love the quote about two photographers. It is so true because photography is an art and everyone has their own style and vision.
Nice photos and song.
The Maui fire is horrifying. Loss of life, of homes, of jobs, of everything people have is so hard to contemplate, and my thoughts are with the people of the islands.

I am happy to read that the banyan tree made it. The rest of the event is so sad and just seems to be getting sadder as the death toll rises. I hope you have a great T day.
I also read that a home survived as the homeowner watered it down before evacuating. Such a loss and I feel horrible that our government has yet to come and assist. Such a tragedy. Janice
So pleased to see you are here and are OK, so devastating for everyone, we've been seeing the before and after photos, so sad that so many people lost their lives.
Happy T Day Cloudia Jan S
Glad you are safe. Such a sad event in your state. Hoping lots and lots of help comes very soon. Such a strong tree - thanks for sharing.
Lovely words and pictures as always. The showing up imperfect part has more meaning for me as I age and have no choice but to show up that way. Wish I would have understood it all the matters at a younger age.
Happy T-day, and extra hugz and thoughts - especially for your adorable kitty.
Gladx a few things survived that fire storm, it was horrifying! Happy T Day, Valerie
The tree's survival is a sign of hope in the midst of the horrifying devastation.
Sorry I am late visiting. I spent time last night in an ice bath trying to help my back I hurt during the neighborhood clean up. Even though I bent with my knees, I felt something go when I stood up.
I saw the Maui banyon tree on TV. I am glad it has survived. It sure gives hope to that city that lost EVERYTHING.
I love the photo of the water bottle in front of that water park. It s adorable. Thanks for sharing it and info on how to help the people of Maui.
I thought of you a lot when I saw the horrible fires, as you are the only person I 'know' in Hawaii. It is so good that the banyan tree survived. That is a sign of hope, no doubt.
I played the song too and it is lovely soothing music.
Your photos are beautiful as usual and Pixie on the shiny floor is a perfect image.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Glad the banyan tree survived and is the picture for strength. Pixie would make a good picture of strength, too. Happy T Day

All the times I have been to Hawaii Maui was the first destination. My heart breaks to see what the fires have done. Give Pixie a pat for me.
