A L O H A From Honolulu!
Sun in my face
Trees got my back
The song of birds
lunch in a sack.
In sunlit sheen, a grackle gleams,
No longer black, a rainbow seems.
Emerald shimmers dance and play,
On wings that catch the light of day.
On iridescent wings he flies,
A splash of blues and purple dyes.
In sunlit air, a grackle gleams,
Coat of black with iridescent seams.
Vinca is a genus of flowering plants that includes about 12 species, and is also known as periwinkle or myrtle. Vinca plants are native to Europe and Asia, but have naturalized in many other parts of the world.
Every time you do wrong you
bend your soul the wrong way,
and when you act rightly you give
your soul a brighter shine,
a little beauty.
Paul Woodruff
When angels visit us,
we do not hear
the rustle of wings,
nor feel the feathery touch...
...but we know their presence
by the love they create
in our hearts.

Love the iridescence so many seemingly plain birds feature.
That do wrong quote is so good
Pixie is looking awfully cute there.
I didn't realize we had grackles here. I've seen them on the mainland. I shall keep my eyes open for them on our side of the island. I am seeing more of those big parrots though. I hope they don't start eating all the citrus in our area. Have a great weekend, Cloudia!
The grackle was photographed in California Kay!
Thanks EC and R
Beautiful post! We have such little flowers here in the summer too and they call them multi-flowered and they bloom all summer long! I like ! Have a nice weekend!
But, Cloudia... I just looked it up and it says there have been four sightings of Great-tailed grackles in Hawaii. Granted only four. :-) And it was a while ago, but they were seen in Ala Moana, close to you. Wouldn't it be fun if you saw one here?
What a lovely cat! I like Paul Woodruffs wonderful words.
Lovely poem and images.
Great shot of the Grackle.
Pixie is always adorable.
The Vinca flowers are pretty, a favorite of mine.

Happy Easter. I hope angels wing their way to you.
...Happy Easter to you.
Just lovely.
Loved Pixie's trust that after you clicked her photo you'd give her some lovin'. Never remember having read Mary Baker Eddy's comment about angels...since I was raised Christian Scientist (no more though). THanks.
Pixie requests belly rubs, post haste.
This is an especially good pic of the lovely Pixie today, Cloudia. Love your poems. ;-)
That first shot is really cool! I love your poems today and Pixie shining there with her bright soul beaming out.
Oh thank you so much my dear friends! So appreciate reading your wonderful comments. Aloha!
Fantastic description of a grackle. Love it!

The path between the two walls would be kind of spooky at night.
