Campfire

A L O H A  From

H O N O L U L U

Autumn brings a longing
to get away from the
unreal things of life, out
into the forest at
night with a campfire
and the rustling leaves.
                  Margaret Sangster

Take heart.
If you are alive today,
You are a warrior
of the soul.

After a while,
whoever you are,
you just have
to let go, and the
river brings
you home.
        Joanne Harris

Away from the tumult
of motor and mill
I want to be care-free;
I want to be still!

 I'm weary of doing things;
weary of words
I want to be one
with the blossoms
and birds.

I am lucky enough to have had campfires in the forest (or close to the forest) in autumn.

Great clouds almost like someone sitting by a campfire. I loved the quote by Guest.

The mussaenda looks an awful lot like a poinsettia.

I've not heard this version of the Joni Mitchell song. Very nice!

Dear Kathy, They are two entirely different plants that come from separate families, though their colorful bracts can sometimes cause confusion. A type of mussaenda is occasionally called a "summer poinsettia," but they are not the same plant.

Fall is the beginning of a relaxing time of year. All the darkness forces one to just stay home and relax, no pressure to be out doing things like in the summertime when it is light out so early until very late.
