Hawaiian Word of the Day

A L O H A  From
H O N O L U L U
Holomua (ho-lo-moo-ah):
To move forward with purpose.
A Hawaiian call to progress—together.
It speaks of growing in harmony, advancing with care,
and shaping a future where all can thrive.
A tide of progress guided by care for one another,
lifting the many, not the few.
It is the Hawaiian way—
to advance together, so the future may bloom.

Bloom

In muted light
she opened slow,
a whisper
where the soft winds go.

Spirit breathes
through petal’s hue—
beauty at once
 ancient and  new.

No striving here,
just pure release—
Orchid’s heart
unfolding peace.

The best way
to capture moments is
to pay attention.
Mindfulness means
being awake.
Jon Kabat-Zinn

The greatest rebellion
is loving yourself
in a world
trying to
sabotage your light.

The blooming is when you
see yourself with kind eyes,
carry a little more grace
for your reflection, and
speak of forgiveness as if
it's your last name.

spoken by the character Moira Rose,
portrayed by Catherine O'Hara,

...Cloudia, keep moving forward, but I'm not sure about those shoes!

Thank you for the inspiration here today, Cloudia. I don't think I've ever seen platform shoes quite like the ones in your photo - wow! Blessings!

Nice explanation of the Hawaiian word of the day, but unfortunately it contradicts the events of the day.

I'm imagining petting dear Pixie (or her new friend) while listening to the purr...soothing my frayed nerves. Loved hearing the children sing!

Lovely word, lovely poem, lovely pictures. At first, I thought Pixie was gazing in shock at that guy's shoes, but then I realized she is gazing fondly at a good friend.

I always wondered how to get taller. Cool shoes, but I'd buy his shirt! New kitty on the the block? Linda in Kansas

I wore platform shoes one time in my life, but not as high as these. They would be great for seeing over a crowd :) Lovely images, lovely words. Love you too Pixie and Cloudia, and wishing you peace and joy throughout the new year.
