Singular

 A L O H A From
        H O N O L U L U

Rainbow shower tree
in July,
island trees
wearing lei of light.

When the shower tree blooms,
Honolulu walks under a
rain of blessings.

Petals on the sidewalk,
Summer snowflakes
thawing old memories.

Pink showers remind us:
even ordinary roads
can turn into rainbows.

Shower trees are the quiet
 fireworks of summer.

Under rainbow showers,
each step is a small
parade of color.

Morning is
the dream renewed,
the heart refreshed, earth's
forgiveness painted in
the colors of the dawn.

Art is when
you hear a
knocking
from your soul —
and you answer.

Love is too small,
too singular a word
for the feeling it's
trying to hold.
