As You Are - As You Will

A L O H A From Honolulu!

Rainbow Beach, Rainbow Beach
where worries cease to be, Footprints in the shoreline,
washed by ebbing sea. Laughter floats on laughter,
carried on the breeze, As children chase the rainbows,

As many of you know, I have lived in Hawaii half my life, the better half. After many years, we had the opportunity to move to California for a  time. We were there four years, and accomplished what we had gone to do.

I have never taken these Islands for granted!
Living, working, growing here, has made me who I am, and shaped how I feel about life and others. This was never as clear as when I lived in a different climate both terrestrial and social.

This is my first December home
since Dec. 2014.

Every day I appreciate the balmy breezes, epic skies, and ways of life. Walking the few blocks to the beach, I repeat:
"I'm walking in the sun!
I'm walking in the sun!"

At last I feel that I can rest and look to the future
as a succession of such moments.
A retirement in the midst of life!

I love morning, noon and blessed night.

Here's hoping that YOU are marinating
in the healing celebration of
Your Home!

Oh No! Super Monday! Run!

A  L  O  H  A !
Wouldn't you rather be surfing,
or watching surfers?
I caught this back-lit family
Saturday on
as they walked up the trail
from the shoreline below.

January is cold.

The new year is
just finding it's legs
like a newborn
giraffe.

And then there are
the bills. . .

Some people remain
celebration-unsteady
too. Watch for them.

But today is the day:
The first normal
"Work Day"
"School Day"
after a protracted
Holiday Season.

Here is my tip
to YOU:

Just show up.

Just find your class.
Everyone there
is more disoriented
than you.

Look awake.
Make it through
the day.
It will all be easier
tomorrow.

And to those like
myself:
"They've gone now.
We can clean up,
drink a second cup,
take the camera
for a walk."

When you love
what you do
'Normal Time'
is the Best Time
of ALL!

I wish YOU
Love &

Island of Misfit Relationships

A  L  O  H  A !

It takes two.
Even a saint cannot
repair a damaged relationship.

All you can do
is behave as your best self,
and limit contact.
[even when you are together]

Your courtesy,
non-violent manner,
- even friendly overture -
cannot effect repair
unless the other party
wants it,
is capable,
can even SEE
the overture!

Some can only
run the scripts
that they have always run,
forcing you into
the role assigned to you.

That's all that
they can see.

They're not even present
to themselves.
It's not your failure
but the nature of
free will.

Don't slam doors,
or say in anger
the thing they will
repeat.

Just continue
on your happy way. . .

Damaged relationships
do not heal
if neglected.

The forgetting scab forms,
covering unresolved tissues.
You can go on with
your life.

Only when
the possibility of healing
expires
with one side,
does survivor find
the grace to finally
heal it alone.

It is over.
Done.
You may forgive.

Then the scab
 falls away
revealing freshness,
that portends only
good.

Until then
slam no doors
when you get out
to salvage
yourself.

Thank You
for Musing Here
