EXULT

A  L  O  H  A !
" Roll on, ye Stars!
exult in youthful prime,
Mark with bright curves
the printless steps of Time. . .
Flowers of the sky! "
               Erasmus Darwin,
                  The Botanic Garden
                    (1791)

Morning  Moon

“But perhaps God
is strong enough
to exult in monotony.
It is possible that
 God says every morning,
 "Do it again" to the sun.;
and every evening,
"Do it again" to the moon...
 the eternal appetite of infancy
 ...our Father
is younger than we.”
                G.K. Chesterton

" Happiness is
being on the beam
with life -
to feel the
pull of life. "
                     Agnes Martin

During Holiday Seasons
there is a lot of work,
expectations, and pressure
in the air.

Routines
are disrupted;
And some of us
rely on our routines
to regulate our days.

We may be separated
from companions,
or worse:
our companion animals!

When I get tense
It's does me good
to remember
that I am director
of my own movie.

Call a five minute break.
Assess the scene.

Sometimes, it's what
DOESN'T occur
that makes the piece!
[so it comes off simpler
than it is]

Don't play someone else's
role they've created for you.

Just tell yourself:
"CUT."

Then play it your way,
or not at all.

If voices be raised,
yours need not
be one of them.

Remember:
You are the Star
of your own movie!

Tomorrow Hopes Quote Me

A  L  O  H  A !
We expect thunder
and trumpets,
but when it comes,
the answer is
as gentle as a breeze,
 instant as a sneeze.

I'm getting pretty good
at getting past
things that would once
have ruined an
entire hour,
or day.

"To have peace
with this particular life;
to accept
 what we do not understand;
 to wait calmly
for what waits us,
 you have to be
 wiser than I am."
                        M. C. Escher

" Tomorrow hopes-
Night Lights
- that we have learned
something from yesterday. "
                                  John Wayne

Trees and Rainbow Critters

A L O H A !
" When I am silent,
 I fall into one place
 where everything
 is music."
                      Rumi

" When the first baby laughed
for the first time,
its laugh broke
into a thousand pieces,
 and they all went
skipping about,
and that was
 the beginning
of fairies.”

The ancients lived
in an animate world.

So do we,
if we are
alive enough,
free enough,
to laugh caution
to the winds.

What I'm Really Saying

A L O H A !
What A Wonderful World by Israel KamakawiwoÊ»ole on Grooveshark
 However long the night

The dawn will break
                       African Proverb

" The colors of the rainbow
so pretty in the sky
And also on the faces
of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
saying 'How do you do?'
They're really saying
I,
I love you "

"My work is not accidental

and not planned. "
                    Hans Hofmann

I like the man seen
through the rip in the fence!

When eating vegetables,

remember the one

who planted them.
                    Chinese Proverb

I even invented
a term for it:
"Grooming Language."

When primates are
together, they
groom one another.
Simple enough.

But when the job
is done,
they carry on
touching, stroking,
attending.

strengthens social bonds
and health.

I have not
combed out my
neighbors-

BUT

The routine things
we say,
that have no
practical utility
are Grooming Language.

No one needs
to say it's a cold
[or hot] day"
And few really
CARE about
"How is your day going"?

In New York
it is quick:
"How you doin?"

And the answer
is: "Good."
Just as quick,
but effective.

"God be with you"
['Good bye']
"Aloha"
O Genki Desu Ka?
[How is your health?]

May seem routine,
even pointless sometimes.
As pointless as breathing
over and OVER again!

So How's it goin'?

What I'm really saying?

I Love You,
Friend!
