This is precisely the time
when artists go to work.
There is no time for despair,
no place for self-pity,
no need for silence,
no room for fear.
We speak, we write,
we do language.
That is how
civilizations heal.
Toni Morrison
As long as the hearts of
decent people are still beating,
hope lives. Put your hand
on your chest right now
and be reminded:
hatred hasn’t won.

I believe we will survive these difficult days, the same way we survived the 50s and McCarthyism. At some point in the not-too-distant future, we will clean up the mess made by our current overlords and go forward with a deeper appreciation of both our assets and our defects. In hindsight, we will see that we were subjected to a decade of insanity for a reason. And that reason is so we could evolve. So that we could become better.

Thanks for your uplifting message with your poem and all the great quotes. "Hatred hasn't won!" Pixie and the sumo surfers can attest to that! Glad you are high above the flooding in your penthouse nest :)
Hello Cloudia
Love you photos, beautiful moon and your sweet Pixie.
I agree with your wise words and the quotes from John Pavlovitz and Chuck Lorre. Enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
...always have a good heart!
Wonderful photos :-D
I wonder who first came up with the term hearts of gold. It's nice enough having a beating, feeling heart that keeps pumping for my life...and it's totally precious to me.
Lets hope that Chuck Lorre is right.
Hopeful words, Cloudia. ;-)
Pixie is a dear.
A true note from Toni Morrison and your words about gold. Lovely photos and a cute one of Pixie. Have a nice Sunday.
"From sorrows' soil, joy can grow." So true, Cloudia. Blessings always!

Thank you for these wise hopeful words. Gregg and I often wonder how things go for you and we both send you our love and a big hug.
Hope is the only thing left for some of the more victimized members of our society. I try to imagine any way I could help them, but I have no way to push back against the tide of horrors.
I love that mural -- so delightful!
I do hope Chuck Lore's quote speaks the truth. Lovely mural too. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Cloudia.
