For four more years.

The Supreme Court,

the Middle Class,

Students,

Seniors,

and Business

can ALL prosper

with intelligence,

not be hobbled

in the name of

ideology.

It feels like an angry,

dangerous bully

has dissolved in a puddle

like the wicked witch. 

Progress DOES Happen!

All we've worked for

our whole lives,

all the unpopular causes

we supported

are in the ascendancy.  

Thinking on these things

always improves my mood.

When I was a teen,

angry at the war,

and so much more,

I was told:

"No one will listen 

to angry people

with NO positive

contribution to make.

Grow Up!

America:

Love it or Leave it!"

To our opponents

who want to secede

or recede

into wound-licking

and conspiracy theories  

I say:

Contribute.

Join in.

Help your community

and our nation.

No one likes

snide, angry  

know-it-alls.  

Share your hearts,

not insults.

We know what it's like

to feel powerless

and unheard. 

Work like we did

for the things you

believe in.

It IS

YOUR country-

BUT it is

OURS

too!

Love it

or leave it!

I may be a clown

but I'm one of those

that pops up again

after being punched.

Resilient buoyancy 

has become my hard-won

'normal.'

Unspoken kindness

is my contribution

to the weather we all

share,

though I'm never sure

that it really 

contributes

significantly.

But this week I had some

'mean reds'

or 'the blues'

or whatever you call them

breaking up my emotional furniture.

It was all I could do

to be 'normal' among others;

I felt 

contagious

and wished for quarantine.

Today I realized

that the mood we carry

really is no small thing.

It has an effect,

hundreds of times

a day.

I will appreciate my amity

when it is mine to share.

Living kind

is the best revenge.
